What it feels like to be human

Edie Labbé is an artist and designer working through drawing, painting, pattern, and words.

This is a place for being human.

Imperfect, honest, bold, quiet, or mysterious. A space that welcomes play and contradiction.

Here, nothing needs to be fixed or explained. Feelings are allowed to exist. Meaning is not rushed.

This work comes from lived experience. From paying attention to inner life as it shifts and changes. From letting colour, line, and form say what words cannot.

Some pieces are thoughtful. Some awkward. Some light. Some unfinished.

All part of the same world.
Just like you.

I’m Edie, a French artist and designer based in Brighton, UK.

What I Explore

Illustration & Visual Narratives

Symbolic, emotionally intelligent illustration for wellbeing projects, mental health contexts, charities, reflective publications, and gentle brand storytelling.

Surface Pattern & Object Design

Meaningful patterns and visual designs for stationery, textiles, keepsakes, and objects that carry softness, symbolism, and emotional intention.

Writing & Creative Reflections

Reflections and notes that explore creativity, feelings, inner worlds, process, and the quiet connections between art and wellbeing.

Who I am (becoming)

My name is Edwige (say ed-veej), though most people know me as Edie. I’m a French creative and trainee counsellor based in Brighton, UK.

I work in the spaces where feelings turn into shapes, soft symbols, colours, and small stories about being human. I focus on sensitivity, curiosity, and the inner weather we all carry.
I explore what it means to be human: the tenderness, the uncertainty, the glimmers. I often wonder what quiet stories live inside me, and inside you.
